2018 – The Year Ahead For WW Consulting
We are looking forward to a new year full of interesting assignments with our global clients. Here is a brief overview of some of our major programmes; We are delighted to be continuing with our long-standing partners, but equally excited about some new development in the pipeline.
Stepping Up – from Management Essentials to global leadership
During 2017, we were busy redesigning and delivering two core programmes for a global bottling manufacturer we first worked with in 2004. The programmes form a key element in the structure of their new leadership development portfolio. ‘Management Essentials’ is an interactive 4 day regional programme focusing on key skills such as coaching, managing performance, communication and team development. ‘Stepping Up to Leadership’ is a dynamic 4 5 day programme aimed at developing mid and senior level leaders. The programme covers self-awareness and authentic leadership, change leadership and developing a global mindset. Participants work on a global project simulation and conduct peer consulting on real business challenges.
Both programmes will be running throughout 2018 in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Forging Ahead with Change and Building Teams
We are extremely proud of the partnership we have developed since 2010 with a leading manufacturer of carton and carton solutions. Our global 3 day Change Management programme continues to go from strength to strength, and this year we will be adding an advanced level facilitation skills course to the portfolio to further develop the company’s in house community of change practitioners. In addition to this, we have had the pleasure of working with many senior teams, helping them develop a vision for change and understand the importance of team ‘balance’. We work closely with the wonderful people at TMSDI (www.tmsdi.com) whose Team Management Profile is a key element in our approach to team development.
We have worked with this wonderful client in a number of diverse locations – Brazil, China, UAE, Panama, Australia and New Zealand, as well as extensively in Europe and the Americas.
Bringing Leaders Together and Sharing Values
Another very long term partnership – since the early 1990s – is with a major autoparts and powertrain manufacturer headquartered in the US. Since redesigning the flagship leadership programme in 2010, we have successfully run the 5.5 day programme in Europe and the Americas, and worked with some great senior leaders from across the business. As participants come from all regions of the globe, we are able to facilitate real time learning across common projects, and with the theme of ‘leading from core values’ it is always rewarding to see that leaders share the same issues, challenges and dreams despite coming from very different backgrounds.
Taking Charge of Change
We are equally proud of the long-standing relationship we have with the US based global leader of motion and control technologies dating back to the 1980s. Our Taking Charge of Change programme runs on three continents across two modules, allowing participants to build a real team spirit with their colleagues and work on genuine peer consulting projects, using our ‘Change Loop ‘methodology as the guiding principle. As with all our programmes, the emphasis is on interaction and ‘learning by doing’ – all participants leave our programmes with a concrete, tangible action plan to improve not only their impact as leaders and agents of change, but also to make sure they focus on their own and their team’s wellbeing.
Towards a More Agile Culture
We have been working with a European based leading provider of advanced technologies for the Auto industry since 2012. Since early 2016, we have been consulting with their UK business to create an ambitious vision for change, involving new ways of working, more adaptable and innovative approaches, aimed at capitalizing on their strengths to secure their future as a leading provider of innovative solutions. This exciting venture coincides with a move to a brand new, state of the art building to showcase the technological prowess of the organization.
In addition, we have worked with several Plant teams in Spain, Slovakia and Germany, building a team spirit and identity around new leaders.
In the Pipeline…
We are looking at a potential partnership with an innovative French startup who have developed an app to measure happiness and wellbeing at work. This ‘bottom up’ approach has the potential to revolutionise how organisations cope with change, and really understand how to energise and engage people at every level. Watch this space!
In terms of product development, we are planning to further develop our capability in running webinars, both for our clients and on an open basis, and to leverage our successful experience in running surveys and diagnostics to support specific programmes and initiatives. We ran a well-received event with TMSDI in 2017, which was aimed at understanding and managing conflict in teams: ‘From Conflict to Constructive Dialogue’.
We also ran and co-delivered a couple of large conferences for the telecoms and luxury goods industries, which were great fun. Hopefully a few more of these in 2018!
As in previous years, we will also be running programmes and team events led by our talented US based team, who provide a variety of services to our US based clients, as well as individual coaching assignments and bespoke events on an ad hoc basis. Our equally talented team in Asia, based in Kuala Lumpur, have run similar events across the region and will continue to ‘fly the flag’ for WW Consulting in 2018.
